On Whose Shoulders?
Sunday at 11 in the Church Sanctuary
I have invited Rev. Chip Wright (pictured), a
third
generation Unitarian Universalist and the
current minister of our Olympic
Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Port
Angeles, WA, to our pulpit this Sunday. The
theme is embedded in the context of Martin
Luther King Day and the inauguration of
President Obama.
About this service, Chip observes: "As we
look ahead to a new era in our nation let us
not forget the shoulders, including those of
our own Unitarian Universalists, which have
carried us in this remarkable journey."
Denis Paul, Outreach Minister with
Faithful Fools; Peter Olandt,
Ministerial Intern; and Worship Associate
Anna Sylvester will participate in the
service. The choir and organ will minister in
music.

Children and Youth Welcome Shelter Guests
Sunday 10 to 12:15 in the Chapel
from Nancy Buffum
Sunday School youth grades K-12 will focus on
welcoming guests to the February Winter Shelter.
Theda Burke will lead learners in
making table decorations for the Men's
Shelter. The students will also make
Valentines and assemble toiletry care
packages with backpacks donated by the
Faithful Fools.
The worship program will be led by the
Faithful Fools.
Toiletry and sock donations are needed for the
Shelter: NEW warm socks and NEW
mini-toiletries including soap and toothbrushes.
Please bring them to the Chapel on Sunday.
Newcomers are always welcome to Children's
Religious Education Program. Parents are
also invited to accompany their children and
assist. For more information email Acting
Director Betty Skwarek, or see
Religious Education Assistant Nancy Buffum on
Sunday.
What do an atheist, a Buddhist and a
catholic have in common? They'll probably
be sitting next to each other at the "Sharing the
Journey" class series. Would you like to be
part of this inquisitive and eclectic crowd?
New members and those curious about Unitarian
Universalism who can commit to three Sunday
sessions from 12:30 to 3 pm are invited to
the course. The series starts this Sunday.
There is no fee, but
you must register by calling the church office at
776-4580 by 4 pm Friday.

How Has this Church Inspired You?
Sunday Discussion at 12:30 in the Martin Luther King Room
from Jane Park

As part of its focus on leadership
development, the Board of Trustees invites
you to share your stories of being inspired,
motivated, and empowered in our community.
Come talk about how this church nurtured your
gifts.
We want to learn what we are doing right.
Please join us for this special conversation,
a prelude to the all-church event on
Saturday, February 28.

Starr King Room after the worship service.
