Memorial Services
Scheduling, coordinating, and carrying out the memorial service can be a difficult
prospect, especially while also coping with grief over the loss of the
departed loved one. This can be especially difficult if you or your family
is not a member of a church or your departed loved one did not wish to have
a service held within a traditional church. UUSF can provide the comfort of
a "traditional" church environment for those who need it without many of the
strictures of other churches.
(See the UU core principles for more information on what UUSF stands for.)
Families without a church affiliation or with mixed religious beliefs
may choose to commemorate the lives of their loved
ones
in our
sanctuary. Our
ministers
give
careful
consideration
to the thoughts, feelings, and well-being of the family as well as the unique
life of the deceased and can work with you to come up with an appropriate ceremony
to commemorate the passing of your loved one.
Please contact our space rental coordinator, Jay Roller, for answers to
any questions you may have and to schedule your service today. Jay may be
reached by phone at 415-776-4580 x202 or email.
