Climate Justice Month 2018

March 25 to April 29

Climate Justice Month 2018 is organized around the (Western) Four Elements.  We start with water (World Water Day), then move to fire, air, and finished with earth (Earth Day).  This year, we invite you to a monthlong program of reflection, education, action, and play. Don't worry – most actions require just a few minutes and you don't have to do them all. But there will be prizes for those with the most points! Sign up at the Get Involved! Table or email environmentaljustice@uusf.org to let us know that you are participating. Then check in with us each week to let us know how you're doing.

We Begin With Gratitude.

All month long, we invite you to cultivate gratitude/appreciation, because environmental justice is as much a spiritual challenge as it is social or political. The dominant society tells us that we must always want MORE, turning us into consumers at the expense of our fellow humans, sibling species, and Mother Earth. Cultivating gratitude/appreciation is a powerful way to counter that paradigm.
Earn up to 3 pts per day by any combination of the following:

  • Saying grace/thanks before each meal. (We don't care who you say thanks to.)

  • Naming three things for which you are grateful.

  • Taking pictures of three things that you appreciate.

Share them on the UUSF Facebook page!  Or email them to environmentaljustice@uusf.org and we'll share them for you.
