SOCIETY FOR COMMUNITY WORK (SCW) SCHOLARSHIPS

The Society for Community Work (SCW) awards annual competitive scholarships to current high school students planning to attend accredited 2- or 4-year institutions, as well as to continuing undergraduate students who received SCW scholarships the previous year. Awards typically range from $1500 to $2500 per year, and are distributed prior to the beginning of the new academic year (usually July). Scholarship recipients are required to complete 12 units or more per quarter or semester.

 

Please Note: Dreamers not qualifying under the California DREAM Act are also encouraged to apply.

 

 

Submission Deadline:  Monday, March 15, 2021

 

New Applicants

 

To be considered for one of our scholarships, you must meet the following criteria:

 

  • Will be in the first generation of your immediate family to graduate from a U.S. college

  • Will be graduating this spring from a San Francisco public or private high school

  • Have a GPA of 3.5 or above

  • Have a demonstrated financial need

  • Will attend an accredited public or private college or university

  • Will maintain mutually agreed upon periodic contact with your Scholarship Committee mentor

  • Will provide the Letter of Recommendation as required on your application

  NOTE: Your application will not be considered without a letter of recommendation.
