for our Minister/Director

Our Search Team advises the Senior Minister on the hiring of our new Minister/Director of Religious Education and Congregational Life.  The team was chosen to represent a diversity of perspectives including their connections to the programs that are part of this job's portfolio, life experience, length of connection to the congregation and perspectives. It is Vanessa and the Board's sense that this group will attend to both the ongoing health of the current program and its future vibrancy.

CHRISTINA HAMNER

(she/her/hers, second from left)

has been connecting with UUSF since 2017, at first for occasional visits and participation in adult religious education programs with her husband, Sam. In 2019, their son Liam (now 4) began attending Sunday School, followed by his brother Sterling, who was born in 2020. The family became members of the congregation in November 2021, and Christina also participates in the BIPOC group at UUSF and Black Lives of Unitarian Universalism. Christina sees her participation on the ministerial search committee as an investment in her family sense of belonging within the UUSF community.


Christina works as the Director of Strategic Design & Product Innovation on the national team of KIPP Public Schools, an education non-profit supporting a network of 270 K-12 public charter schools with a mission of preparing students for college, career, and beyond. Christina earned her bachelor's degree in Product Design Engineering from Stanford University and an MBA in Design Strategy from California College of the Arts.


Christina has lived in the Bay Area since 2003 and has been a San Francisco resident for over 13 years. Her family currently lives in the Richmond District.
