"A 'Polymath-er' nun and why
she 'Matt-ers' on this 'Mothers' Day"

Reflections on Hildegard von Bingen: The Patron Saint of Late Bloomers. She founded her own abbey, created her own language, and wrote one of the first musical plays. She was a wonderful composer who set her own lushly poetic texts. Hildegard was 42 before she started writing anything down, and she was also someone who didn’t accept her place in the world. In a male-dominated church, she went on preaching tours at a time when women were not supposed to preach, especially in public. She refused to behave in a certain way. She wrote at a time when, if the church authorities had not thought she was divinely inspired, she could easily have been put to death as a heretic. Let's witness how else she might inspire

ANNUAL CANVASS 2024-25
People, people, people (said in a slow, sing-songy lament) We are so close to achieving the 2024–25 Annual Canvass goal. As you all know, it takes the financial support of all members, not just some members, to fully fund our beloved community's operations and activities. If the 20 members who have not yet submitted their pledges simply pledge the same amount as they did on the last Canvass, we will achieve this year’s goal of $750,000. The congregation votes on the 2024–25 budget in just one week—Sunday, May 19. If you are one of the "missing 20" who have not yet pledged, you are not late, but you are very important. Please submit your pledge today to assure that no cuts to the budget will be necessary prior to the vote.
Thank you,
Jack & Sherry Delo

We are ready to return to Sonoma Country to enjoy time with friends and family. We’ll spend our first evening at the campfire making s’mores, singing campfire songs, and staring up at the star-filled night sky. There will be time to enjoy a walk in the woods, read a book, or play games. We’ll have fun workshops and fun worship. We’ll dance the Happy Dance at the Talent Show. Come and rejuvenate the spirit. You’ll be glad you did.
